A single car wash in Murfreesboro, Tenn., was the site of three burglaries in four nights this week. According to dnj.com, thieves made off with thousands of dollars in quarters on Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday at the Prestige Car Wash. The manager of the car wash says a former employee could be the culprit, the police reported.
Prestige Car Wash on South Church Street was the target of burglars three times this week, according to reports file with the Murfreesboro Police Department.
On Sunday night, burglars forced their way into the car wash and made off with between $1,500 and $2,000 in quarters, according to a Murfreesboro Police Department incident report.
Then overnight Monday night, burglars again forced their way into the maintenance section of the building, which contains the change machine, according to an incident report filed by MPD Officer Angelo Medina.
Medina reported the car wash’s manager arrived at work Tuesday morning to find least $500 in quarters stolen and possibly cash from the change machine.
The third try, which happened around 3 a.m. Wednesday, apparently resulted in no losses. An officer doing a routine check of the property saw that someone had damaged the door trying to get in. Murfreesboro detectives are investigating. May we suggest Murfreesboro to be on the lookout for someone carrying 8,000 quarters.
