Belmont Car Wash & Detailing, which calls itself “the beating heart” of its town center in Belmont, Mass., is gearing up for renovations to celebrate its 50th anniversary, the owners announced recently.
“We want to make sure we’re doing our part to make Belmont beautiful – and not just by making sure we have the cleanest cars,” general manager Adam Tocci said. “Drive through any town in America, and you really get a sense of whether it is thriving. This town has really been transformed over the past decade with the addition of an eclectic mix of exciting shops and restaurants. Our community is changing — and for the better. With our new renovations, I think anyone driving past the Belmont Car Wash will know our town is the place to be.”
The car wash, which has been in business on the same spot since 1964, will undergo upgrades including soundproofing, the installation of free wifi and 60-inch television, and a children’s area that will feature a super soaker that kids can use to squirt water onto the cars passing by outside.
Additionally, the wash tunnel itself will be upgraded for water efficiency, and the blacktop will be repaved.
“We’ve installed new rocker blasters that do a fantastic job of cleaning the bottom half of the cars, and new style brushes to clean the front and rear more efficiently,” Tocci said. “Of course, drying will all still be done by hand as it has for 50 years.”
