Lots of car wash news the last few days. Here’s a roundup of the latest from around the web.

1. Have you seen this woman? On July 11, a customer of a car wash on the 2000 block of South Queen Street in York, Pennsylvania, left his or her wallet (or purse?) at the shop. The same day, security cameras captured images of a woman in a green shirt driving a Kia Soul take the lost item and leave. According to the York Dispatch: “She has so far not returned the property to its rightful owner, police said. Anyone who knows the woman in the photo is asked to call York Area Regional Officer Michael Zinn at 717-741-1259.”

2. Three car wash workers in England died in a fiery crash. The Volvo they were driving burst into flames after colliding with a hedge last week. Nobody knows how it happened, but police are looking for leads, according to thisiswiltshire.co.uk. The car wash workers were three Lithuanian men who worked at Bubbles Car Wash in Beanacre.

3. Osage County, Kansas, has a new car wash. The Osage City Automatic Car Wash, a 24-hour operation, opened its gates July 18, according to OsageCountyOnline.com.

4. A Penn State student opened a new business based on the idea of an on-demand waterless car wash. The student, Taylor Mitcham, called it Simple Car Wash. By scheduling an appointment on the company’s website, clients can have their cars washed with waterless car wash products wherever they are, according to the Centre Daily Times.

Mitcham, who is from Los Angeles, says she developed the idea after trying to wash road salt off her car in Pennsylvania last winter. She had several product samples, and all of them froze except one. “I thought the only thing that would better is if someone had come to my apartment and did this for me,” she told the Daily Times. “The business sort of happened by accident.”
