Chicago’s O’Hare Goes Green: New Fuel Station Will Boast Electric Charging, Alternative Fuels And A Car Wash

Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport is planning new renovations designed for traveler convenience slated for early 2016 — including a new car wash.

They’re building an alternative fuel station that will offer taxis, shuttle buses and customers’ vehicles several fueling options, including electric charging, alternative fuels and conventional gasoline, as reported by Fox 32 News Chicago.

The main attraction will be a 4,000-square-foot travel center near the fuel station. It will feature a car wash, Wi-Fi, flight information displays, a convenience store, a restaurant with a drive-through. All this will be accessible to the public.

The news is part of an airports going green initiative. Chicago’s Mayor, Rahm Emanuel, is quoted in a news release: “Providing better access to alternative fuels at O’Hare provides multiple benefits for the city and the public. We are able to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve air quality, while at the same time generating revenue.”
