North Carolina Car Wash Launches Spiffy, An App For Mobile Wash

A North Carolina car wash business has launched a startup venture called Spiffy, an app-based mobile car wash service.

Karl Murphy, owner of Carolina Auto Spa of Cary and Apex, North Carolina, created the on-demand mobile detailing company in the resemblance of app-driven startup successes Uber and Lyft, according to NewsObserver.com.

Spiffy received financial backing from technology entrepreneur and CEO of ChannelAdvisor, Scot Wingo. The startup has a current fleet of 10 vans that travel to customers’ homes and workplaces. The app offers customers the convenience of scheduling, tracking and paying for the service through their smartphone app.

“In two minutes, you can schedule your first car wash,” Wingo told the website. “Scheduling your second car wash literally takes less than 30 seconds.”

Spiffy also distinguishes its services as environmentally friendly through its use of a mat that allows the water used during the car wash to be recovered.
