A car wash employee in Wisconsin found out a way to make an additional $200 a day in her position. She stole it.

The employee ended up with about $45,000 over the course of a year by taking $200 increments from the register at the end of each day, according to the Sheboygan Press. Now instead of a well-paying job, she’s looking at eight years behind bars. Leticia P. Bilbrey, 23, of Sheboygan was charged Aug. 20 with one count theft of a business setting over $10,000 and one count of fraudulent writings.

When confronted by authorities Bilbrey said she was trying to pay off debts. Her employer said he never expected the behavior from her and considered her a friend. Bilbrey had worked at the car wash for seven years before missing cash deposits tipped off her employers to the recent thefts. Deputies later learned she had been stealing since August of 2014.

If convicted, Bilbrey will face up to $35,000 in fines, nearly all of what she accumulated over the year.
