Mister Car Wash Shows How To Put Your Car Wash To Work For The Good Of Your Community

Mister Car WashMister Car Wash, based in Tucson, Arizona, is the biggest car wash chain in the country by a lot. They have about 135 locations, and the next biggest is Autobell, in North Carolina, with 65. So when Mister Car Wash helps you raise money for your nonprofit organization, you’re going to bring in a lot of money.

In a recent press release, Mister Car Wash announced a new round of partnerships with community organizations that are helping kids, including Lion’s Club and Kiwanis. The company emphasizes that nonprofits in 18 states are partnering with Mister Car Wash to raise funds by selling tickets. The program has raised $739,000 for charity since it began.

And Mister Car Wash isn’t concerned about keeping its program, or the way it works, a secret. In fact, they seem to actively encourage others in our industry to follow suit:

Giving back can be a calling for conscientious companies, too. “With Mister Car Wash’s streamlined fundraising approach, non-profit organizations can spend less time fundraising and more time giving back,” [Fundraising Specialist Lauren] Hobbs said.

Basically the way it works is that if you’re a registered 501(c)3, you can partner with Mister Car Wash. There’s no up-front cost to the organization, and the company issues you tickets for car washes that you can sell. The company and the nonprofit split the sales 50-50. You can learn more about it on the Mister Car Wash website.

It’s a win-win. The company gets sales it wouldn’t have gotten otherwise. The nonprofit doesn’t have to worry about hosting an environmentally damaging car wash in a parking lot somewhere. And Mister Car Wash reaches new customers with a great marketing campaign, associating itself with really great organizations.

But here’s the really cool part: The program is so popular, Mister Car Wash includes a disclaimer on its website saying it can only work with a limited number of organizations. Think this is right for your car wash? Let us know what you think.
