An iconic car wash in California known in the area for its 1960s architecture could soon be bulldozed. Los Feliz Car Wash is up for sale and its listers are calling the 26,000 square-foot property ripe for development. The East Sider LA reported the posting this week, lamenting the loss of a landmark.

But the car wash isn’t just liked by writers of the site. It’s actually been featured for its architecture in a Santa Monica art exhibit two years ago. That’s when a photo of the business, which opened in 1963, was featured in an art gallery. The exhibit featured photos of vintage car wash businesses complete with the cars of their day.

The car was in Los Feliz has also been featured in a blog about roadside architecture. The post about car washes mentions Los Feliz Car Wash for its arrow fin design. Those are the spiked features standing along the top of the awning.

If you’re looking to buy a car wash already revered by the internet, you can check out the listing on Loopnet.
