Two car wash chains are expanding this month, adding additional locations for their growing brands. The first is Mister Car Wash, which is based out of Tucson, Arizona. According to a press release, the company is adding another location to the Houston, Texas area. The second is Breeze Thru Car Wash, which is adding its second location in the city of Longmont, Colorado.
Expansion is no stranger to Mister Car Wash. After its latest addition, the car wash giant will own 165 car washes and 32 express lubes across 19 different states. In the Houston area alone, the acquisition will bring the company’s total up to 30. Those 30 locations employ 6,500 people. A separate support center in Houston employs and additional 1,200 individuals.
“It’s exciting to reach this store count milestone in Houston, the origin of the Mister Car Wash brand,” said John Lai, President and CEO of Mister Car Wash. “We’re proud to expand the Mister Car Wash experience to our customers in Houston and to continue building our market presence.”
In Longmont, Bree Thru Car Wash recently purchased the site of the old Main Street Car Wash. The company will now close the car wash down to spend the next six months renovating the site. When finished, the project is estimated to cost about $3 million.
In the meantime, about half of the employees at the Main Street Car Wash took the company’s offer to work at the other Breeze Thru location in Longmont during the renovations. The 3,443-square-foot facility was built in 1984 and purchased in October for $1.4 million.
