A Rochester, New York man has come up with an easier way for people who wash their cars to benefit local charities at the same time. CauseWash.com donates money each time you sign up to purchase a pack of car wash deals at a time. PRNews.com reports that currently, the website is partnering with 17 locations for a single car wash chain in Rochester called Laser Car Wash. The plan though, is to have the website work in other major cities so car wash businesses anywhere can team up.
“CauseWash is a platform that raises money and awareness for a specific program or ‘cause’ of participating non-profits and lets consumers support not only the organization, but the cause of their choice, all while doing something they already do – getting their car washed,” said Jerry DeCarolis, Founder of CauseWash. “Participation is simple. Visit http://www.CauseWash.com, select a cause of your choice, purchase the wash, and you’ll receive wash codes via email for immediate use.”
The way it’s currently set up, consumers must buy a pack of three car washes at a time. Then the site emails a set of codes the consumer can redeem. In the meantime, they’re able to donate $12 to a cause of their choice. Currently, there are nine major Rochester charities signed up as possible recipients. DeCarolis said he plans to rotate different recipients each month. There’s also an option on the site that shows customers which local groups will match donations.
